Achieve Better Response Rates

Sometimes when you are trying to decide what colors or type of paper to use in your next direct mail campaign consider using high‑quality paper and color applications. This has been shown to increase direct-mail response rates by nearly 5o%. Whether is be a postcard, newsletter, sales flyer or brochure, you can implement this strategy in any of them.

In a recent study that was conducted a company sent out one mailer printed in four-color on a heavy gloss paper stock; the other in three spot colors on a lighter matte paper stock. The design and graphics of each piece were identical as well as the message. For each mailer, the response to the higher quality four color brochure was significantly greater, between 40% and 50%.

Even though the message and design were the same between the two mailers, the change in paper and inks made a huge difference. This can pay great dividends when to promote your product. The key thing to remember here is that testing is a very important part of direct mail. Play with the types of paper and ink colors for your next brochure or postcard mailers to see what bring the biggest response rate in.
