So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some helpful hints:
Thoroughly clean wall and make sure it is dried out. For freshlycolored walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days before to installing decals. Even if new paint seems dry, it may still need to settle and totallycure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not advised on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and permeable surfaces, wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile providing the surface is clean and completelydry during installation. Be certain the design element does not cover grout area as water mightfilter under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, given that they are positionedfirmly onto the surface so watercannotreach under the decal. Once placed, RoomMates will notshift even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals shouldn't be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they should not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and ruin the merchandise. Also, do notplace at the base or inside the tub. Water could filterunder the design element too easily and would damage the adhesive. When putting on, make sure you get started from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element separate from the wall/surface. Gradually go straight down over the product with your hand and smooth the element onto surface (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to shift any remaining bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the difficultypersists (this would onlyoccur with the giant decals), you can punch a teeny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to press the air out.
In all, it is alwaysmost effective to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is textured, performance could be criticallydiminished. Make sure surface is thoroughly clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and ruin the merchandise.
