Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was let go on November 10th, 2009 and had among the strongest introductions I can even remember! I didnt go out on the midnight unveiling, but I drove out on release day and was there 3 hours before launch in the daybreak and there were witout a doubt 20+ consumers holding out there. Following a half hour to fourty five minutes, I finally received my copy of Modern Warfare 2 for the PlayStation 3 system and off I went to expend the duration of my week ranking up as quick as I possibly could.
So before I start off, I just want to say that I am a massive fan of Call of Duty 4, but I tried to help keep this review from the point of view of an individual who has not played any of the Call of Duty video games or an individual who didnt like the earlier video games within the Call of Duty series. I would not think of myself a Call of Duty fan-boy, but I was resolved on purchasing Modern Warfare 2 back when Call of Duty 4 was unveiled.
As the majority of you undoubtedly recognize, I seldom actually buy games that really don't contain some form of multi-player and in most cases will only buy games for the multi-player aspect, but I did truly engage in the entire single player campaign in Modern Warfare 2 and I have to say that I did take pleasure in it even whilst playing through a second time. The story was strong, it was somewhat complex at times, but it tied in fairly properly with exactly where the story left off in Call of Duty 4 and gave solutions to quite a few unanswered thoughts.
The only point I seriously didnt like in regards to the single player campaign in Modern Warfare 2 was that, for the most part, it absolutely was fairly for the hardest difficulty setting. Now, I didnt say constantly, merely because that's definitely not true, there were occasions where I got quite aggravated considering there were just so large a number of enemies at once on every single side and it made me very furious, but other than that, the single player campaign was pleasant and a refreshing new video game to play through.
As far as the controller layout goes, it's exactly the exact same as in Call of Duty 4 and it most definitely was great for that video game and is still totally perfect now. As far as I am concerned, the control structure selections in COD4 and MW2 are the finest layouts that have ever been placed together for any video game. You will find a few other layouts which you can choose from and each of those layouts are perfect as well. Some of the optional layouts take a little while to get used to, but once you are used to the new controller layout, you are unstoppable!
Now comes the aspect which you all have been waiting for! My opinions regarding the multiplayer element of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2! So after putting in above 360 hours of online play, I think I can give a fairly good overview of what it is all about. For the most part, everything is far better balanced. The maps are laid out beautifully, and most of the perks and weapon attachments work very good. This being said, there are always negatives to go together with the positives. Now, dont get me completely wrong here, I am not going to go over everything that's proper in this video game, because it would take too long. Instead, I am going to try and go over some of the main defects in the online element of this video game, simply because I assume this would be more beneficial to possible buyers and/or earlier owners.
Here we go, lets get started now relating to the negative elements. As far as I am concerned, one man army is the only real questionable perk. On its own, there's practically nothing wrong with it, and it can be especially useful based on your state of affairs, but put to use in the hands, it may be put to use in an really irritating way that makes any person prefer to simply just demolish their controller until the pieces halt flying.
Next up, we have death streaks. To just be straightforward and direct, being compensated for dying, in my opinion, is just silly. There really should be no need for this if the spawn software was properly thought through, which, unfortunately, it most certainly just isn't, but if you are making use of death streaks for anything but to overcome the poor spawn structure, then you've no excuse, you are definitely a noob.
On that note, I might as well touch at the spawn process seeing as I already opened that can of worms. While not jumping into a massive rant, essentially the spawn procedure operates properly in most situations, but on the occasion, it operates just about as well as an Xbox 360 with the RROD. It does not help you in any way, it may cause you significant disappointment, and it can make you want to cast your console out the window of a 3 story or higher structure. I am quite certain that that's pretty much all that I have to say about that, due to the fact that if youve played a respectable number of online games and online game varieties, you know exactly what I am speaking about.
Just one other issue that operates just like that, would be the matchmaking solution. The video game automatically determines what room it is going to place you in. This means, you could be placed in a room which has 15 seconds left in the online game and it's basically hopeless for you to win. This absolutely maddens me to no end. There is no easier method to destroy my passion to just relieve stress and engage in some Modern Warfare 2 then when I start it up and join a online game on a team that's just getting rocked. Its not fun at all, in reality, most of the time if this occurs I will simply flip the PS3 system off right then and there and do something other than that.
As far as weapons go, they are very considerably balanced now. Back in the beginning there was a massive dispute in regards to the model 1887s, but thanks to all of the whiners, they got nerfed and are now about just as beneficial as chucking a rock at somebody. So far as the rest of the guns go, they are all tremendously effective and at any time you really don't react rapidly, you will die without even knowing what transpired.
