So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some hints:
Clean wall and make sure it is dried out. For freshly colored walls let paint "thouroughly dry" for 10 to 15 days prior to applying decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may nevertheless need to settle and fully dry. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not suggested on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very textured and porous surfaces, wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to use on tile provided that the surface is thoroughly clean and completely free of moisture during installation. Make sure the design element does not cover grout region as water might filter under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, given that they are positioned snugly onto the surface so water can't reach under the design element. Once placed, RoomMates won't move even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals should not be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they must not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and damage the product. Also, don't position at the base or inside the tub. Water could seep beneath the design element too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When using, make sure you begin from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element away from the wall/surface. Gradually go down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto surface (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to move any leftover bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the difficulty continues (this would only happen with the giant decals), you can punch a teeny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to press the air out.
In all, it is always most effective to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is textured, performance could be critically diminished. Ensure that surface is thoroughly clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and wreck the product.
